Busy Bees

I had 2 shows since my last post. I'm having a lot of fun doing the shows...I was nervous for the very 1st show but it was in front of people that I know and have met before so it was a good show. From each show, I walk away with new ideas, things to do differently, things not to do, and what to keep doing. Customers' reaction to jewelry has been very positive and I love all of my hostesses!! =)

I have 3 shows coming up this weekend and I hope to book more. I have 5 bookings from the last 2 shows so that's huge. I'm so happy with each show and I can't wait to do more and put more ideas into fruition. I'm so glad that I decided to do this because it's a new experience and I love every new person that I've met and excited to meet more new people. Extra $$ is good also. =)~

One thing that I hope to do more of is to take pictures!!!

So stay tuned for more pictures and updates on my business! I've got some ideas brewing in my head...=)

Opening Night

So I had my trainer show today. This show officially marks the start of my jeweler business with the Premier Designs. I learned a lot of ideas from my Premier Mom, Allie, who conducted the show today. The trainer show was a success and I'm here to tell you that no matter how many people show up, you are going to have fun and have a great show.

Since today is the "opening night" of my life as a jeweler, I am going to showcase the 90 feet pearl necklace called the "opening night". It is lovely and so versatile. I forgot to take a picture of it by itself but here is myself wearing it few different ways. There are so many other ways to wear it and I will post it as I get them.

Anyone who books and/or host home shows during the month of January and February will get this Opening Night as a gift. (Please note that the pins shown on pictures above are sold separately.)

I hope I can show you these jewelries next! =)

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone had a wonderful end to the year 2011 and are on your way to a great 2012!

I'm exciting about 2012, not just because of the Premier Designs Jewelry that I will be selling but I just have a good feeling that it will be a good year. Hopefully the stars are aligned in my favor...=)

To kickoff the year, I had my first giveaway on facebook. I had passed 50 likes on my page so I wanted to celebrate the number of fans and the new year by giving away something useful - a jewelry roll. I don't have a picture of it because it's been ordered and I will hopefully have it by the end of the week so I can give it to the winner, Amy!

I will have other giveaways throughout so make sure you LIKE my page: www.facebook.com/PDSusanKim

I have my trainer show this Saturday to kickoff my journey as a jeweler so I'm excited! I hope to see many friendly faces there. Thanks everyone!

Cheers to a stylish 2012!!

styling tip #1

Hello friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and now are gearing up for the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. I hope Santa was good to you this year...if not and/or your Santa mixed up your wish list with someone else...well, don't fret! go return all those unwanted gifts and come to my trainer show on Saturday, January 7th in Centreville and buy what you want! =) if you need detailed information on the show, please message me (pd_susankim@hotmail.com).

I "like"d the premier designs official facebook page and it often lists some informative fashion tips. So I want to test them out weekly. So here is the styling tip #1:

Wearing large earrings gives you the illusion of looking 10 lbs thinner.

Well, what do you think?

Without earrings
with earrings

I don't know about looking 10 pounds thinner but it does look somewhat different...By the way, do you "LIKE" my facebook page? (www.facebook.com/PDSusanKim) I have 49 likes...trying to get to 50...maybe I will have a special drawing when I reach 50 "LIKE"s. =)

Gotta Have It...

I hope you all spent the last weekend before Christmas doing some last minute shopping and crossing off some things off of your "to do" list. But most of all, are you all done with creating your wish list for Santa? I have a long list of things that I want...the biggest thing on my list is the iPad. I've been wanting it for a long time and so tempted to get it for myself but I'm going to control myself and wait until I make some profit from the jewelry business. I believe that it is good to have a goal and a reward for having achieved that particular goal.

However, my wishlist goes on and on... long champ bag, north face jacket, kitchen aid mixer, keurig, and so on. What are some of your things that you "gotta have"?

I spent this past weekend baking and spending some quality time with friends. Each year, my friends and I do Secret Santa gift exchange. I actually do this with 2 different groups of friends. I look forward to this gift exchange every year. Then I met some of my fellow jewelers at a gathering hosted by Rachel. It was great to meet other jewelers and I look forward to future meetings where I will get to meet more of them. At the gathering, Rachel showed some of the jewelries and I must say, I cannot wait until I get my own set of jewelries, not only to wear them myself, but to show it to you all.

Until I get those jewelries, I may just have to enjoy this bracelet that I bought for myself few weeks ago. It's called "gotta have it"...;)

Please excuse the quality of the picture...I hope to take better pictures once I get settled in with all the stuff...=)

Frequently Commented Statements

When I inquire people about possibly hosting parties, there few statements that are often said by them (a.k.a. excuses...haha!). I've never hosted any parties for independent distributors like myself because even though I've wanted to, there was always this fear about hosting - that no one will show up! But now that I'm on the other side, I want to tell you all, my dear future hostesses...FEAR NOT!

So here are some frequently commented statements and my thoughts on them:

1. I don't have that many friends. Don't worry about the number of people. Just invite everyone you know because the worst thing that they can say is no and that is okay! All we need is you and 2 other people to make  a party. I know that any type of rejection is hard to accept but this is not a popularity contest. I won't judge you. They say that to get about 10 people at the party, you would need to invite about 40 people. So basically 1 out of 4 people invited will come to your party. Invite everyone on your email, facebook, twitter, and/or any other social media.Who knows, this might help you reconnect with a friend you haven't seen in a while.

2. My place is too small. Most likely, all 100 people you've invited will not show up. Also, I bet you not all of them will come at the same time. There are always someone that shows up fashionably late, some that leave early, or that one person who doesn't show up after all. And if all 100 people on the list show up, then we will do what we have to do to make the party fun.

3. My house is not clean. Well, maybe it's time to clean then. =)

I will update this list throughout my experience. I hope the few mentioned above help you ease your mind about possibly hosting a party. I definitely have 3 parties booked for January/February, I need 6 more to meet my goal #1...I have several pending. Did I tell you that Premier Designs Jewelry show could help you raise funds for your favorite non profit? If you or your friend(s) are looking for fundraising ideas for a charity, please send them my way. Thanks! =)
